Rental Terms and Conditions
Clients are advised to read our Terms & Conditions carefully. Acceptance of and payment for a booking is acceptance of our Terms & Conditions. If clients have any queries, contact a member of the RentaKneeScooter’s team.
Bookings will be confirmed based on the dates selected by the Client via the online booking system, which dates are subject to availability, and confirmed once payment is made for the rental period.
Equipment images on our website are examples only. Specific models cannot be guaranteed.
Recovery Supplies (Pty) Ltd T/A RentaKneeScooter reserves the right to refuse the supply of equipment if deemed in the interests of the safety of the client and others. Clients are advised to disclose any relevant information likely to affect the ability to operate equipment safely.
1. Deposit and Payment Terms
Rental is charged on a daily basis and subject to a rental period of minimum 14 (fourteen) days. The period of rental of the Knee Scooter shall be agreed upon on acceptance of this agreement.
Bookings are subject to payment of a deposit based on a 30 (thirty) day rental period, plus the rental of amount payable for the duration of the period of lease of the Knee Scooter.
The deposit is fully refundable on the return of the Knee Scooter in the same condition as received by the Client, subject to that which is set out hereinbelow, which shall include but not be limited to the clause headings Repairs, Ownership, Risk and Damage and Late Charges. In the event that the Knee Scooter is stolen or damaged beyond repair, the replacement value of the Knee Scooter will be deducted from the deposit paid.
2. Rental Extensions
Knee scooters are due back at the date specified on the online booking. If you need to extend your rental, you must call or email RentaKneeScooter prior to expiration period. Any rental extension will be subject to availability. Payment of the extension rental period will be due and payable on the date of extending the period of rental.
3. Repairs
A member of our team will inspect the Knee Scooter prior to delivery and on collection of the Knee Scooter, to ensure same is in a satisfactory condition.
In the event of being notified in writing by email of any technical problem or fault, we will endeavour to resolve the situation as quickly as reasonably possible. If the Knee Scooter is unable to be repaired, a replacement model of similar specification will be offered. RentaKneeScooter is authorised to deduct from any deposit held, the costs of any spare parts where the problem is directly linked to the client.
Where the fault of the Knee Scooter is not attributable to the Client, any rental delays lost due to the failure or fault of the Knee-Scooter, will be added onto the hire period.
4. Cancellation and Refunds:
In the event that –
• you choose to cancel the hire period 7 (seven) business days prior to the date of the commencement date of the hire of the Knee Scooter, you will be refunded the full amount paid in respect of the rental period and the deposit, less an admin fee of R 150.00 which shall be payable and deducted from any amount paid.
• you choose to cancel the hire period less than 7(seven) business days prior to the date of the commencement of the hire of the Knee Scooter, you will be refunded 50% (fifty percent) of the amount paid in terms of the rental and the full amount in terms of the deposit paid, less an admin fee of R 150,00 which shall be payable and deducted from any amount paid.
• you return the Knee Scooter earlier than the end of the duration of the rental period agreed to, you will be refunded 50% (fifty percent) of the remaining balance paid in respect of the rental period to date of return and the full amount in terms of the deposit paid.
Notification of any cancellation should be made in writing as soon as possible to RentaKneeScooter by emailing info@rentakneescooter.co.za or by calling 082 966 5384. Unless a booking has been cancelled in accordance with the aforesaid terms, no refund (if applicable) will be given and RentaKneeScooter will exercise its sole discretion in refunding any amount.
5. Ownership, Risk and Damage:
5.1. Ownership in and to the Knee Scooter shall at all times vest in RentaKneeScooter. Notwithstanding the aforegoing, all risk in and to the Knee Scooter shall vest in the Client, from date of taking delivery/possession thereof to date of return of the Knee Scooter.
5.2. The Client shall use and operate the Knee Scooter entirely at his/her own risk, in a careful and proper manner, with reasonable care and diligence and in accordance with all instructions and restrictions given in relation to the use and operation of the Knee-Scooter.
5.3. The Client shall be responsible for any loss incurred or damage caused to the Knee Scooter, whether be it by accident or theft. This assessed loss shall be offset by any deposit held by RentakneeScooter under this Agreement.
5.4. The Client shall be responsible for the Knee Scooter whilst in possession thereof and shall be liable for the repair of any damage caused to the Knee Scooter by the Client which, if unusable, shall forthwith be returned to RentakneeScooter for assessment and/or for the full cost of replacement for any damage, loss, theft, or destruction of the Knee Scooter. The Client understands and authorises RentaKneeScooter to charge the debit/credit card used for any repair costs or the replacement costs of the Knee Scooter and/or be entitled to utilise the deposit paid for any repairs, costs, or the replacement of the Knee Scooter.
5.5. In the event of the Knee Scooter being lost, stolen or in the opinion of RentakneeScooter being damaged beyond economical repair, this Agreement will terminate, and the Client shall be liable and pay all rentals outstanding in respect of the full period prior of lease provided that this Agreement will not terminate if the parties reach agreement on the substitution of the Knee Scooter.
5.6. RentaKneeScooter shall not be liable or responsible for the loss of or damage to any property left, lost, damaged, stolen, stored, or transported by the Client, its agents, servants, or employees, or any other person using and/or operating the Knee Scooter, either before or after the return thereof to RentaKneeScooter. The Client assumes all risk of such loss or damage. Insurance for Loss or damage is for the Client. RentaKneeScooter is indemnified against all claims based upon or arising out of such loss or damage.
5.7. The Client shall assume all risk and liability for any loss, damage, or injury, including death, to persons or property of the Client or others arising out of the use and operation of the Knee Scooter.
5.8. The Client shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RentaKneeScooter, all their owners, agents, officers, servants, and employees from and against any and all losses, liability claims, damages, injuries, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage or injury claimed by persons that may arise from the use or operation of the Knee Scooter.
5.9. RentaKneeScooter shall not assume or accept any liability or responsibility for any acts or omissions of the Client or of the Client’s agents, servants, or employees.
5.10. Any individual executing this Agreement as Client in a representative capacity shall be bound personally, jointly, and severally, with such fiduciary, corporation, or other entity as to all obligations, expressed or implied, arising hereunder.
5.11. If any provision hereof or the application of any provision to any person or circumstance is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder hereof and the application of such provision to other persons or circumstances shall remain valid and enforceable.
6. Late Charges

Where the Knee Scooter is not returned on the due date, there will be a late charge of R100.00 per day for each day that the scooter is not returned, save where the rental period has been extended as stipulated herein. Payment of the aforesaid late charges rental period will be due and payable until returned to Rentakneescooter.
7. Privacy Policy
All information regarding our Clients will be used and stored in accordance with current Data Protection laws.
RentaKneeScooter will not give clients’/Clients’ personal details to third parties, or use client details for marketing, advertising or publicity purposes without consent.

This Terms and Conditions, which constitutes the Agreement between the client and RentaKneeScooter (“the parties”), constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior understanding or representation of any kind preceding the date of accepting the terms and conditions hereof. There are no other understandings, promises or warranties, whether oral or in writing, relating to the subject matter of this Agreement.
